Anthony is studying a Bachelor of Business at AUT University. His main areas of interest within his business degree are finance, innovation and entrepreneurship. He plans to pursue a career in finance and his ultimate goal is to own his business.

Anthony enjoys playing sport and spending quality time with family and friends.

He is very hard-working and has been employed part- time at Pak'nSave in order to help fund his university studies.

Anthony is highly organised, intelligent and motivated and enjoys seeing his peers succeed on their own journey. He did exceptionally well whilst at school as evidenced by the scholarships he was awarded when he left Dilworth.

Indivar Kumar

Indivar is an ambitious young student, studying his BCom/BA at the University of Auckland, majoring in Marketing, Management, Sociology and Criminology. He chose to go into these fields as he has a strong interest in how the mind works and in business.

He believes with the rapid changes in technology and the work force, there will be many roles in the future in which these fields of study are helpful. 

Indivar Is extremely passionate about everything he partakes in and excels at many levels within the performing arts, with his involvement in many school shows leading to his role in the 2018 live-production revival of 'Mamma Mia' to be performed at the Bruce Mason Centre.

He also achieved distinction in all of his musical theatre exams including his diploma in Musical Theatre from the Trinity College of London (“ATCL”).

Indivar is working part-time at I Love Ugly to help finance his education.

Joel is studying a BCom at the University of Auckland and currently intends to major in management. He has chosen this course as he hopes to pursue a career in business management, with the possibility of further postgraduate study, perhaps a masters in business administration.

He is a passionate sportsman, whether the sports involve the water, a ball or wheels.

Joel is a talented and motivated young man, and has demonstrated his loyalty and work ethic in both full and part time work in the past few years. He worked full time in the hospitality sector over the last university holiday’s and has had a part time role for many years life-guarding. He also volunteers as a Surf Life Saver – one of his passions.

Luca is studying a Bachelor of Business and currently intends to major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.

He is passionate about photography, film photography in particular, using a vintage camera. He would be delighted if his future career could incorporate photography.

He is also a keen skate-boarder.

As noted below, Luca has been awarded a significant scholarship from AUT which recognises his academic achievements and also his success as an “all-rounder”.

Matthew Macnaughtan

Matthew is studying a BSc at the University of Auckland majoring in Mathematics and Physics. He is very bright and has chosen to study science because of his love for the field, and his goal of applying his scientific knowledge to his eventual career.

Matthew is a keen musician, playing the bagpipes recreationally as well as competitively, both as a solo player and as a band player in the grade 1 pipe band, the Auckland and District pipe band.

He works at MotorCorp Distributions as a warehouse assistant, and plans to work there throughout his time at university to help fund his studies.

Matthew also tutors physics, maths and classics at Dilworth and enjoys giving back to his old school.

Oscar is studying law and arts and is currently intending to major in Criminology and Philosphy. He has chosen to study law because he loves negotiating and debating.

Oscar plays hockey and enjoys photography.

He has demonstrated an excellent work ethic whilst working part time at Hallensteins to support his studies. Oscar has now stopped working to concentrate on studying but he hopes to get some work experience at a law firm in the near future.

Oscar is very personable, bright and an all-rounder. His talents have been recognized in the number of awards he received when he left Dilworth. He also received his diploma in Performing Speech and Drama from the Trinity College of London (“ATCL”).

Oscar is a class representative for one of his first year law papers and he is looking forward to an opportunity to get involved with various University clubs, in particular the Investment Club and the Debating Club.

Thomas Swinburn

Thomas Swinburn is a high achieving student who has had many interesting life experiences for a man of his age.

In 2016, he was selected by Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, MP for Maungakiekie, to represent him in the Youth Parliament which involved volunteering in a community project and sitting on a parliamentary select committee.

Thomas was also one of 10 Young Ambassadors selected from around NZ to travel to France and Belgium to represent NZ at centennial commemorations for WW1. Thomas spent part of Year 11 living and studying in France and is now fluent in French.

When Thomas left school he took a gap year and was a Sports Tutor at Whitgift School in London. He made the most of this time in the UK and travelled to 42 countries across five continents! He learnt a lot about himself, broadened his skills and experiences, and made lifelong friends.

He also received a significant award at his final Dilworth prize-giving for being optimistic, loyal, outgoing and hardworking – these traits sum up this talented young man.

Thomas is in his first year at the University of Auckland studying health science with a view to becoming a medical doctor.

Tommy Hou

Tommy is studying a BE (Hons) at the University of Auckland. He plays the piano and enjoys sketching and painting in his spare time. He has decided to study engineering because he has always enjoyed solving real world problems.

Tommy is exceptionally bright and was top of his class in chemistry and biology in his final year at Dilworth. He was also awarded the Proxime Accessit.

Tommy continues to work hard towards his goal of becoming an engineer. He is looking forward to determining which branch of engineering he will specialise in as his studies progress. He is currently working part-time at Dilworth senior campus tutoring the
subjects of physics, chemistry and maths.
