How Can You Help?

No matter your stage or expertise, SEF wants your help to achieve our goal of developing young students into successful young professionals.

Become a Mentor

If you are a leader in your field and would like to inspire the next generation, please apply here.

This will give you the unique opportunity to see a young person become a successful young professional. On-going support and training will be provided throughout the programme by a supervising coaching psychologist to allow both student and mentor to get the most out of the programme.

On application all Mentors are interviewed, reference checked and asked to complete a Ministry of Justice Criminal History Request before being matched with a student.

As we are unaware of the students’ areas of study until we have completed recruitment in September/October, we have a very short timeline to identify and train our Mentors. If you think this is something you would like to do please complete the Application Form and Ministry of Justice form or contact SEF to find out more.

Become a Work Experience Provider

If your organisation is interested in getting a preview of SEF’s future graduates from the University of Auckland or AUT, you can offer some experience in your workplace to a current student.

We are looking for organisations who could commit to providing two weeks work in one of the university breaks to our students. The process is simple and whilst we would prefer our students to be paid, most of our young men would be willing to work for these two weeks without pay. This “taste” of a workplace would be invaluable for them.

From your point of view, taking one of our students would give you an opportunity to work with an able, talented and hard-working young man. We anticipate that our students will impress you and that in some cases you may well find a future employee.

We would be keen to talk to organisations who work within the following fields; law, accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, property, engineering and information technology.

Please fill out the form on our contact page by following the link below and we will get back to you with further information.
