Anthony is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science Conjoint majoring in Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. He has chosen this degree to combine his heavy business interest with his numerical skillset.

Anthony left Dilworth in 2019 with a range of achievements and experience. He excelled academically, with excellence endorsements across NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3, and gained a Scholarship in Statistics. Outside the classroom, Anthony captained the 1st XI Football Team, led the Senior Concert Band, and was a School Prefect. After a COVID-19 interrupted GAP Year in 2020, Anthony returned to Dilworth, hoping to help develop students to overcome their disadvantaged situations and achieve success. He is currently working with Year 13’s in Wilton House.

Anthony is heavily involved in university clubs. He has competed domestically with the Case Programme and looks forward to competing internationally in Thailand next year. Additionally, he holds executive committee roles for two of the largest business clubs on campus, the Case Club and Investment Club, where he organises various educational speaker events and competitions.

In 2021, Anthony’s success in consulting competitions led him to a New Product Development & Operations summer internship at ZURU. He then temporarily moved to a part-time Consumer Insights Consultant role during Semester 1 2022. At ZURU, he gained valuable FMCG experience and developed his business acumen. Anthony has also had work experience at Jarden, where he worked across various teams and services. He particularly enjoyed the financial modelling and analysis he conducted within the Equities Research team.

In 2023 Anthony looks to develop his career interests further, hoping to land a Consulting or Investment Banking internship.

He works within the SEF programme as a Buddy for Anton Falepeau who is studying BCom/BE at the University of Auckland. .

Chan Lee

In 2024 Chan will be in his fourth year of his Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree.

He enjoys connecting information and managing the academic demands in this very competitive course.  

Chan worked hard throughout his senior years at Dilworth achieving both NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 with Excellence endorsement.

Chan is also an accomplished pianist.  He achieved his Grade 8 Trinity Piano Exam while sitting the NCEA external exams at the same time.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing Chess.

Chan has been working as a volunteer in the Bupa Hospital in Auckland during his last summer holidays.  He is currently involved in the School Aid and has been part of the Debating team in the past.

Elaijah Tuivaiti

Elaijah wishes to become a doctor and give back to his local community upon the completion of his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.

Elaijah has taken part in a funded exchange to France for half a year, upon which he returned back to Dilworth and completed his exams, gaining Excellence overall for Level 2 and 3, as well as a Scholarship Exam pass in Classical Studies

Elaijah gained excellence endorsed overall in NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 and three excellence subject endorsements in French, History and Mathematics.

Elaijah is not only academic but has a love of sports and the arts. Elaijah has represented Dilworth at Polyfest performing with the Kapahaka group.

Elaijah has represented Dilworth at regional, national and international levels with his sporting achievements. One achievement is Elaijah’s gold medal he gained at the 2018 World Cup in Sydney for Taekwon-Do. In 2018 following this achievement Elaijah was awarded with the Dilworth Hillary Prize. Elaijah has also broken school records for swimming and was named Dilworth’s swimming champion in 2019.

In 2017 Elaijah had a huge year of sporting achievements. Elaijah achieved Dilworth Armagh Sportsman of the Year, upon winning the Athletics intermediate Cup, the Swimming Intermediate Cup and coming second in the Intermediate Cross country and the most valuable player for Dilworth Basketball.

Elaijah enjoys volunteering and has been an avid member of the School Aid programme at Dilworth for two years. He has also volunteered at the Marine Medic Jonah’s Project from 2017 to 2019. Elaijah has also taken part in the First Aid Volunteer Counties Taekwon-Do event from 2014-2018.

However, even among all of these outstanding achievements both sporting and academic, Elaijah’s greatest achievement is being 2019 Dilworth Head Boy. Elaijah is an incredibly determined, hardworking, and humble young man who deserves all the success he has earned over the years.

George is studying a conjoint Engineering and Commerce degree at the University of Auckland. 

In 2023 he started working as an assistant within the Dilworth boarding house. George enjoys the challenge of study and work and has a keen desire to help raise the younger generation of students. 

George’s leadership abilities were recognised at Dilworth School as he was part of the Prefect team, the Head librarian for Wilton House, and Dungannon House Prefect at school. Fulfilling these commitments while maintaining his outstanding academic results shows his self-management and high level of motivation.

George is working at Mitchell Vranjes for the 2023 summer break; he is obtaining valuable experience in the engineering field, linking his university work to real-life concepts.   He aims to become an Engineering Company's CEO or High-level manager.

When he gets a chance, George likes going fishing around Kaitaia.

Hemi Young

Hemi grew up in a rural community, and quickly appreciated the poor health outcomes Maori face in New Zealand. This fuelled Hemi to develop a passion to help promote change within his community. Hemi was accepted into the COACH workshop which is run by Whakapiki Ake to help expose young Maori to the reality of studying medicine. This workshop helped to solidify Hemi’s wish to pursue a career in medicine which has led him to study a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Auckland.

Hemi has been mentored by Dr. Lance O’Sullivan. Through Dr. O’Sullivan’s mentoring Hemi was able to grasp what it actually is to be a doctor and the commitment you make upon becoming one. This experience only fuelled Hemi’s desire to one day be a doctor also.

In Hemi’s spare time he enjoys planning basketball. Hemi became captain of the Under 19 A Basketball team at Dilworth. The team was undefeated all season and won the Under 19 Central East Basketball Competition.

In 2017 Hemi was awarded a Top Scholars Award. This award acted as the catalyst to how Hemi viewed his academic potential and has led him to believe that he is capable of pursuing a career in Medicine.

Hemi was Tyrone House Prefect. Hemi is particularly proud of his involvement in Dilworth’s voluntary School Aid group. This group contains 14 students who invest in shares with the goal to increase their capital to donate to charities. In 2018 they were able to donate $15,000 to ChildFund.

Hemi was a lifeguard at Parakai Springs in the Christmas holidays, where he was in charge of ensuring the safety of everyone who entered the premise.

Currently Hemi works at Luminary as a brand ambassador. Hemi is tasked with handing out flyers, describing brands to interested customers and interacting with a variety of people about general enquiries.

He worked within the SEF programme acting as a Buddy for Osian Holloway-Jones who is also studying BSc (Biomedical) at the University of Auckland.

Henry Wang

Henry is studying Engineering at the University of Auckland, he looks to use his strength in Calculus and Physics to solve complex problems.  His critical thinking and adaptability to challenges and changes will lay the foundation for him to do well in his course.

Henry is hardworking and consistently striving to reach greater heights. He is always keen to assist others with their learning by helping his peers with academic challenges.

Apart from his academic skills, Henry is also a very able musician. He has achieved many external exams in Piano and Flute with distinction and is currently Principal Flute of the Dilworth Concert Band. Henry was also part of the Dilworth Foundation Singers Choir.

He worked within the SEF programme acting as a Buddy for Matthew Tao who is studying a BSc at the University of Auckland.

Joshua's passion and enthusiasm for technology inspired him to undertake a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Auckland. He completed his studies in 2023 and soon after started working for Lets Play Live Media Ltd.

At Dilworth, he topped his Digital Technologies and Electronics class. He was presented with the Technical Management Award for his outstanding service to the school and the St Kentigern Award for Service to the Chapel. Joshua was also the Squash Team Captain who helped inspire the next generation of squash players at Dilworth.

Continuing his success at Dilworth College, Joshua undertook a full workload each semester, including summer school, graduating with a 6.0+ GPA and multiple A+'s. During his final semester, he produced MarkerMatch, a tool for the University to simplify the process of applying to mark courses simpler for students. He also produced multiple projects at the University, such as a music browsing website and an event ticket website.

Outside work, Joshua enjoys spending quality time with friends and volunteering in his local Church's cafe, baking and selling goods every Sunday morning for the congregation.

Isaac is a self-motivated, ambitious, reliable and humble young man. He recognises the special opportunities and privileges which have arisen as a result of his time at Dilworth and has worked extremely hard to prove he is worthy of them. In 2018 Isaac achieved Level 2 NCEA with excellence endorsed, this was a huge achievement for Isaac and one which he is very proud of.

Isaac enjoys physical activities including going to the gym, playing basketball and running, but his main sport is athletics. He is currently at a national level in Hammer throwing. Isaac achieved a Silver Medal at the New Zealand Track and Field Championships in 2018. In 2019 Isaac became a member of the Dilworth U19A Basketball team.

Isaac is well respected by his peers and has huge leadership potential. This is evidenced by the fact in 2018 Isaac was Deputy Head Prefect of Donegal House and in 2019 was awarded a School Prefect role.

In 2020 Isaac travelled to Ireland on a gap year upon becoming the recipient of a Tutorship to the Royal School of Dungannon in Northern Ireland. This scholarship is incredibly competitive, and his success is a testament to Isaac’s hard-working nature, and positive attitude.

Isaac has had several part-time jobs from 2014 to 2019, including his work at the Pacific Island Advisory and Social Services Trust, his job at Ticketmaster, and his labouring roles at Auckland Labour Hire and Dilworth School.

Isaac is proud to be Samoan and is in the process of relearning the Samoan language.

Finally, Isaac speaks incredibly highly of his time at Dilworth. Upon the completion of Isaac’s undergraduate degrees, he wishes to give back to Dilworth, a school which he says, has shaped him into the man he is today.

Jerome Tupuola
Deputy Head Boy 2020

2024 will be Jerome’s fourth year of his Bachelor of Urban Planning at the University of Auckland. He has experienced a wide range of internships, and he says it has been a blessing to experience real-life urban planning situations in the working world.

As Jerome heads into his final year of study, he can now realise the many working opportunities that are present, which will lead him towards achieving his goal “to give back to my culture in a way that improves their lifestyle for themselves and their community, especially back home in Samoa.”

Jerome is interested in the interaction between buildings, the environment, and people, which has become vital throughout his studies thus far, noticing the major impact these topics have on proposed developments.

He worked at Pak n Save for two years before becoming a Dilworth School tutor in the new year nine boarding house in 2023. Jerome also volunteers with coaching at Dilworth for the u14A rugby team and u15 rugby sevens team. He enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience as a former Dilworth rugby player to the younger students.

He currently enjoys playing rugby league and tag. He uses sports as a hobby outside of study to keep himself active and fit.

Lennox is now in his final year of his conjoint degree with the desire to enter the property industry upon graduation. Throughout his time at university, he has interned at several firms including Broadway Property Group, Kiwibank, the Dilworth Trust Board, and most recently as a summer intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) within the Real Estate Team.

Outside of university he has continued his sporting activities playing softball at a Premier Men’s level for Te Atatu Roosters.

Lennox has also become a Boarding House Assistant back at Dilworth School where he is in a unique position to give back to Dilworth and its current students.

Mudiwa Makaza

Mudiwa has considered many professions as a possible option after he completes his secondary schooling this year. Over time and through personal experiences he is now focused on becoming a doctor

Mudiwa is a big believer in balance in life and rounds out his academic achievements by participating in Basketball. Besides playing he is involved in refereeing and coaching.

His focus on serving others is evident. He is a founding member of A.C.T.S ( Assisting Communities Through Service), a committee of students, he is involved in organising charity events and fundraisers at Dilworth throughout the year. In addition, Mudiwa has been volunteering at the Salvation Army in Hamilton during his breaks.

In his free time, Mudiwa has an interest in music in general, music production, and public speaking.


Paolo Aquino

Paolo Aquino commences his postgraduate research career in 2024, completing his Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Auckland. Paolo primarily has an interest in internalised oppression, indigenous and postcolonial psychology.

Paolo's Honours research project, supervised by Dr Sam Manuela, encompasses Sikolohiyang Pilipino in creating an adaptive framework for understanding migrant experiences in Aotearoa. Broadly, his work centres on giving psychology away to ethnic minority groups with an emphasis on culturally relevant therapy and conceptualisations of wellbeing and identity.

Concurrently, Paolo has been a research assistant within the International Sex Survey (ISS) team since 2021. Their current focus delves into exploring sexual/relationship satisfaction between monogamous and non-monogamous peoples.

In addition to these projects, Paolo enjoys being a helpline counsellor at Youthline NZ and has been an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu hobbyist training for three years.

After 2024, Paolo wishes to complete a Master's and PhD in Psychology, where he aims to explore more opportunities for research, undergraduate tutoring, and lecturing. He strives to produce considerable contributions to psychology and aims to be an academic both in New Zealand and overseas.

Becoming an Architect has been a childhood dream of Thomas’s. He firmly believes that Architecture intertwines psychology, sociology, economics and politics amongst other subjects therefore making it both a science and art. Thomas is keen to learn the skills to design structures that have a long-lasting impact on society.

Thomas is principled, hard-working and emphasizes integrity in any decision he is involved in.

Academically able he has achieved NCEA level 1, 2 and 3. with Excellence and Excellence endorsements in the majority of his subjects.

Combining his leadership and sporting abilities Thomas has been the captain of the Dilworth Wresting team for the last 3 years.  He was awarded the Brizzlies Trophy for ability, achievement and endeavour in Wrestling at the 2020 Dilworth School Prizegiving.

Through all his endeavours Thomas is focused on serving his community which has been recognised by being awarded the Friendship Award for Service to the House by Dungannon House in 2019.

Combining his interests in Economics and Accounting has led Tyrane to his decision to study a Bachelor of Commerce and Law conjoint at the University of Auckland.

Tyrane attributes his outstanding academic results of achieving NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 with Excellence to being goal-driven and being curious. He thrives on opportunities to improve himself. Tyrane was 1st in Accounting and 1st in Economics at the 2020 Dilworth School Prizegiving.

Tyrane was also a School Prefect and was a House Prefect in 2019.
