Losaline Alatini will be pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Auckland. Her passion for this field comes from witnessing injustices faced by Pasifika and other minority communities, and she hopes to use her studies to advocate for fairness, representation, and justice. Through law, she aims to be a voice for her people and create positive change, guided by her values of faith, service, and resilience. During her time at McAuley High School, Losaline showed leadership as part of McAuley’s Special Character, Social Justice, and Hauora service groups, as well as the Polyfest Tongan group. These experiences have given her confidence in teamwork, public speaking, and leading with empathy. Beyond school, she enjoys church youth activities, family time, fashion, and listening to music. She draws strength from her culture and faith and is determined to carry these values into her studies and career. She is extremely grateful and blessed for the opportunity provided by the Staples Education Foundation. Losaline looks forward to this next chapter of her journey, where she hopes to grow academically, spiritually, and personally, while paving the way for future Pasifika leaders.

Myra Bryce

Auckland University of Technology

Myra Bryce is set to pursue a Bachelor of Health Science at Auckland University of Technology. Myra’s reason for pursuing this field is her want to help the Pasifika community as well as informing them the importance of their health and wellbeing. Myra’s goal is to create an awareness and promote better health within her society and possibly the world. Myra’s naturally curious and eager to learn, striving to grow in all aspects in her life and her career  

Throughout her time in High School, Myra has been involved in a handful of leadership roles which reflect who Myra is as a person. Myra was a Polyfest leader for the Tongan group, she was also heavily involved in helping setting up and running events during cultural language weeks, a Peer Mediator that students could confide in, a Tuakana Teina which is a program that helps year 9s settle into their first year of High School. She is also involved in her community through White Sunday, and every other Saturdays she helps run a fundraising market at her church. In saying that, Myra values the time she spends with her family and enjoys playing guitar and piano whenever possible. These hobbies allow her to take a break and unwind from the pressures in life. In the end Myra hopes to become a beacon of light for all, and to provide knowledge on what they should do to ensure their bodies are protected. 


Sepuita Mohetau

Sepuita Mohetau is set to pursue a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts Conjoint degree majoring in English and Pacific Studies at the University of Auckland. As the first in her family to attend university, Sepuita hopes to inspire her family to aim high and to help pave the path of better opportunities for future generations in her family.  

Grounded in the core values of growth, open-mindedness and service, Sepuita strives to apply these values in every aspect of her life. During her time at McAuley, Sepuita has served as an Academic Prefect, a Tuakana-Teina mentor, Young Queens mentor, a Student Librarian and a member of the Softball team. Outside of school, Sepuita has gained practical experience as a legal intern at Integrity Law Limited in Ōtāhuhu, volunteered as a student librarian at the Ōtāhuhu Toia Library, advocated for human rights campaigns as a Youth Advocate with Amnesty International in Aotearoa, and served in her local church community as a former Young Women President (2023-2024) and as a current Primary Secretary.  

Beyond academics, you will most likely find her reading, writing, spending quality time with family, or picking up a new skill. Sepuita is a learning enthusiast and embraces the future ahead of her. 


Soana Tutoe

Soana will be pursuing a conjoint degree in Law and Commerce (majoring in Finance) at the University of Auckland. Her passion for both law and finance comes from an awareness of the underrepresentation of Pasifika peoples in these fields. She’s driven by a desire to change that narrative, to use her education as a way to uplift her community and advocate for justice. For Soana, these degrees are more than just qualifications; they are a foundation for meaningful service. 

Throughout her time at school, Soana has shown leadership and commitment. She has served as a form class student representative, liturgy leader and has been actively involved in service groups such as Social Justice, Special Character, and Coolock House service group.  She’s also embraced opportunities in public speaking, taking part in speech competitions and using every chance to grow and share her voice. 

Soana’s journey is deeply rooted in her faith. Anchored in Christ, she sees Him as her guiding light and source of strength. She walks with purpose and prayer, inspired by values like justice, compassion, and excellence. As a proud Pasifika woman, Soana is determined to thrive in a way that creates lasting impact for those around her.
