Johnny wishes to pursue a career in property and business. He wants to use these degrees to impact society in a positive way. 

Johnny gets on well with others, and always tries to see others' perspectives.  He is compassionate and hard-working, and is very grateful for the excellent values which Dilworth School has instilled in him.  Examples of his integrity and kindness are his involvements with various charitable organisations, such as Ronald McDonald House and the Fair Food Company.

Josef is an avid learner, and always tries his best in everything he does.  Josef is thoughtful and self-contemplative; he observes the world, and thinks how he can improve both his place in it, and how he can improve others' situations.

Josiah is studying a conjoint Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Auckland.  His career goal is to follow his passions for problem-solving and helping people, and to one day start his own company.  He is proudly Samoan, and is particularly interested in using his skills to help his people.

Josiah is a natural leader and he knows the value of team-work, communication and treating people with respect.  He has held many leadership positions throughout his time at Dilworth. He was across-the-board involved in every aspect of school life - sport, music, cultural and community.

He worked within the SEF programme as a Buddy for Leo Su who is studying a BE (Hons) at the University of Auckland.

Matthew Tao

Matthew is undertaking a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science. He is especially interested in web development, and Matthew hopes to gain a wide variety of knowledge in the IT industry throughout his degree. Front-end development is his primary focus, but he plans to gain experience in back-end technologies as well as UI and UX design.

He is conscientious and well-rounded; he enjoys running, bouldering, all sorts of racket sports, reading and philosophical discussion.

Michael hopes to pursue a career in the media, and is undertaking a degree in Communications at AUT.  His interest is in providing a platform for people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities for their voices to be heard.

Osian Holloway-Jones

Osian plans to study in the field of medicine, through a Bachelor of Science specialising in biomedical science (Sub-specialisation Neuroscience).

He is an avid learner, often opting to study subjects outside his usual academics. Osian’s great passion lies within the biological sciences and the human body, leading him to aspire to medicine.

Outside of academia Osian’s interests lay within the natural world; being a collector of rare house-plants and having a wide knowledge of NZ ecology. Osian enjoys many outdoor pursuits, including tramping, kayaking and mountaineering. He is resourceful, resilient, disciplined, and an all-rounder - partaking in sporting, musical, and artistic pursuits.

Osian has also been involved in his local community - participating in voluntary native planting events, stream clean-ups, wetland bird censuses, and growing and donating native tree seedlings to the Kaipara Landcare project. He also often helps at events organised by his local Parakai primary school.

He works within the SEF programme acting as a Buddy. In 2024, he starting working as a teaching assistant for the second year anatomy course at UoA.

Thomas Burke

Thomas is studying Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), majoring in civil engineering.  He has a strong passion for,  and ability in, physics and calculus.  The specialisation of civil engineering appeals to Thomas, as it is very project-driven and he likes the idea of being on site in construction.

Thomas loves learning and looking forward to the next task or problem.  Always very self-reliant and motivated, he undertook a student exchange trip to France in 2019, studying at a French Lycee; Thomas managed to gain funding and organised this exchange.   He stepped out of his comfort zone and gained a huge amount of personal growth (including respect from Dilworth and his peers).

He has undertaken a variety of part time jobs. Thomas displays some traits, he is compassionate, a team player, and he is very grateful within his everyday life.
